"B" is for By Myself!

Sometime last week a switch flipped in my kid's head and now he wants to feed himself. Not by hand like before, but with a spoon. He'd shown interest before, but now he really, REALLY wants to. I can see it in his face. He sort of stares at me, Jedi mind-meld style and I can feel his thoughts burning into me: BY MYSELF!

Ooookay then! Of course, it's messy as hell, and he happened to pick the week that I'd made the fruit sauce we mix into his porridge and yogurt from blueberries, so everything he owns is stained purple around the neck, but whatever.
The really cute part is that I fill the spoon and put it down for him. He picks it up, sucks the food off (while holding the spoon upside down) and then hands the spoon back to me. It's sweet, albeit ever-so-slightly bossy and demanding (more food, bitch).

Since he spends more time in the highchair now, taking his regular meals and regular snacks, we've started to try and have video calls with Pappa on a daily basis. Here we have Alexander stuffing his face with raisins (also a daily occurrence...well, maybe a thrice daily occurrence as he is obsessed with them at the moment) while Pappa watches from the office in Poland.
