"F" is for Fetus

So, we're at the magical 10 week mark, and #2 is no longer an embryo, but now a full fetus. I guess I have to stop calling it Blob and give it a proper in-utero name. This is the week that saw Alexander christened kumquat (babycenter.com emails compare the baby's size with fruit, for some reason, and 10 weeks is a kumquat, because you know, everyone knows what that is and immediately gets the size reference!).

I'm starting to feel better too. Rather than being sick all day long and wanting to sleep or die most of the time, I only have isolated moments of feeling crap, that maybe add up to one or two hours. It's a huge difference.

As I mentioned last post, the trend of being bigger, earlier, is continuing. This photo is from evening, when I'm always biggest, and after an Indian meal, so I'd eaten a lot, but still. I think I looked like this at 16 or 17 weeks last time!

I find I'm back to enjoying Alexander, rather than trying to get away from him and his noise, which is good because he's on Easter break from school, and 4 days at home with him last week might have killed me!

As it is, we're all having a nice time. On Thursday evening we went to a sports store to get some floorball shoes for Goran, and I bought Alexander a scooter.
He's thrilled, and not only because his current favourite book (Dexter Bexley and the Big Blue Beastie) involves scooting. After some indoor practice, I took Jill for a short walk and Alexander scooted along with me. It's going to take some time before he gets up any kind of speed, but for now it's great fun to watch him learn. Larissa, our cleaner, was impressed by how stubborn he is about trying and trying and trying some more. He does NOT want help when he gets stuck, and even when he trips over the thing, pops back up right away to try again.
