Alexander is a squirmy sleeper. He goes to sleep one way and wakes up in a totally different position, scrunched up against the opposite corner of the crib. He thrashes his way to sleep, flopping his head this way and that, and often complains loudly about the fact that he's been left in the crib in the first place. This all means that if I leave him covered up by a nice warm blanket, it is one hundred percent certain that he'll wake up as far away from the blanket as humanly possible. For reasons you can probably imagine, this tendency has been worrying me as the weather grows cooler. I'd seen sleepsacks and Growbags and all other sorts of things, but hadn't bought one because they just seemed silly--yet another thing that someone is trying to make me think I need, something I must spend more money on or my mothering skills will be suspect. There is just so much crap marketed at parents. Anyway, I gave in and I swear this thing is one of my top baby purchases ever.
He can still crawl around in the crib, and I daresay he'll learn to stand up in it soon enough, but at least he won't wake up from being cold.

Here he is peeking out at me through the mesh of the crib side.
All in all, a good buy. The only downside is that I bought a boring looking cheap one, because I didn't want to spend gobs on something I wasn't sure was needed. But now I see all the really adorable ones in the shops and they're so tempting!
