He came along in his mei tai sling and when he indicated his desire to be taken out of the sling (by grunting and punching me in the breasts), I passed him off to a friend and he spent the next hour on his back, gurgling at the mirrors and lights on the ceiling. We came home in time for him to visit with his girlfriend for three hours, and then I popped him into bed after a very relaxed dinner. I sort of wanted to keep him up, because he was so nice to hang out with, but refrained from tempting fate. That sort of thinking is just asking for a major meltdown and sleep regression.
In fact, he was super good yesterday as well. He slept for three hours in his wagon (allowing me to have lunch and buy a pair of trousers which actually fit me properly, as well as a bathing suit for him) and then came to help a friend pack up his apartment before a move. We sorted the cds from his machine and back into their cases. Shiny! Colours! A perfect task for us, actually. He seemed to actually enjoy it.
Tomorrow we join three friends and their babies (A is the OLDEST, how the hell did that happen?) for a "baby morning" at the local cinema. Alexander is an old hand, having been three times already. It's just a regular movie, but with the lights on a low setting (so one can keep an eye on one's babe, and to facilitate breastfeeding) and no one minding if your kid screams. Mostly he's enjoyed it before, and either eats or sleeps through the whole thing. He's a lot more active this month though, so we'll see if it's as easy as it's been. I'll let you know.
