The trip to London was fairly uneventful. There was the trip over to Sweden on the ferry, which we've done what feels like a million times, so it was no big deal.
Alexander helped guide us onto the boat (erm, or not, whatever)
and we had dinner at the non-buffet restaurant. By the way, I can't stand the Tallink buffet. Just so you know. Drunken people gorging on mediocre to poor food and pushing in the lines, an ugly room, non-existent service. Blech, the entire experience makes me shudder. Anyway, we ate at the other place, that also has mediocre food, but at least has semi-friendly and individual table service.
Alexander enjoys the salad bar there and we enjoy sharing a botttle of wine and watching him fling cucumber. We learned that he does not like sweet corn. I wish I'd photographed the face he made, it was hysterical..jpg)

Anyway, we spent the afternoon in Sweden, had lunch and a nap, and then left Spaniel (sniff) and the car, and hopped on a plane. Poor Alexander needed to have some stuffy head relieving nasal spray prior to boarding, and Goran took charge of that. I, being sick and exhausted too, was just trying to hold him down and ram it up his nose. Pappa had more patience, thank goodness.
And then we arrived. We knew about the mothball odor but thought that a day or so of open windows would cure the problem. Not so. It seems our landlords stuffed their locked closets full of the things, and I can not get the smell to dissipate. I'll have to call them. I'm not looking forward to it. I'm actually hoping I can find something about mothballs being bad for babies, so I have a leg to stand on, other than, "I don't like the smell".
We've spent the week exploring the flat (that would be Alexander) and the neighbourhood (a bit more me). I'll follow this up with some posts and pictures of what we've been up to.
